Friday March 10th The Dining Room

Dear Cast/Crew,

Congratulations on an excellent show last evening.  The audience was with you a 100% and your quality of acting was supreme.

A few gentle reminders.

1.  Because your show was so good last night.....sometimes.... actors relax a bit and are not as sharp and alert as they should be.

DON'T let this happen.  Keep things moving. Remember to project!!!!!

2.  DON'T change or alter the choices you have made, and the way you have worked your scenes.  Everything fits perfectly, and occurs for a reason.

You are not permitted to add anything to a scene ...it makes our production extremely amateurish if you do.

3.  The audience tonight deserves an excellent performance.  Shine! Create!

4.  Aramark will be enjoying our turkey and all the trimmings this evening.  Do not eat any of the food this ...that being said....

5.  Fancy Night!  I have talked to AppleBees.  They are expecting us.....but we might have not all be able to sit at one table.  Be flexible, be kind.  Remember to tip well!

6.  The Theater Arts ShowCase will be at school starting at 4:00 p.m.  Those who are performing, please arrive by 3:30 p.m.

Alicia and Avery.....we need to set up refreshments at that time as well.

7. Sunday 9:00 a.m.  I am in need of some kind folks to help break down the set.  I have also asked some parents for help...however, I have not heard back from anyone at this time.
I would love some support.

Enjoy tonight everyone!

You have something very special!

From Mr. Roller:

Dear Parents,

As I sat last evening at our Theater Arts Department's performance of The Dining Room, I was struck by a very peaceful feeling of pride and admiration for our learning community. I could have been home watching political contestants rip each other apart and criticize all that is wrong in our country. Instead, I correctly chose to spend my time watching an amazing collection of young men and ladies share their talents with our community. As I looked at the individuals on the stage, I reflected upon the past month. Many of these students have been involved in the talent show, the jazz band concert, the music trip to Harrisburg, sports competitions, the mock trial team, and many will be donating blood today in school for the American Red Cross. (And that's just some of the activities in the past month) It is truly amazing to see these wonderful young people thriving in their community. We should all take time to be thankful for what we have here and the terrific young people who add so much to our lives. Have a great weekend!

Tom

The Dining Room March 10-12 2016 7:30 p.m.

Dearest Cast and Crew,

Tonight is special.

It is a time where our community will gather.......excited to be transported in to the world of theater; where they will laugh, feel sadness...and possibly reflect on their own lives and relationships.

It is also special because of all of you.  I can't even begin to imagine the countless of hours we have all put in to this production.  From our "creative audition process", to creating back stories on our characters and their relationships, to creating and building a set, learning our lines, figuring out the "food map", (what food items go where and in what scene), how to clean and prepare for the next moment on stage, to cleaning our theatrical space in preparation for another performance.

Please....understand that when my level of frustration can handle no more-it is because of the passion and care that we have all put in to our show....and how  I truly want everyone to experience a journey that is unique; to be treasured and valued forever.

Go out tonight and conquer the stage.  Carry the audience to an emotional level that they will appreciate and admire.

You are a great group of young adults...it has been a pleasure to have worked with you all this season!!!!

Peace to you all,

Lys
