I want to thank everyone for coming out for this season's production of Rumors.
It was a difficult process casting the show. The auditions and call-backs were terrific. Unfortunatley, there are not enough parts for everyone.
I welcome anyone who would like to be part of the crew/or understudy.
I will post the cast list tonight and will order the scripts tomorrow.

Rumors Call-Backs
Dear Friends,
Thank you for a wonderful workshop/audition this Saturday. You all did so well...... very creative and extremely focused.
I wish I could cast you all in this season's show. I want everyone to know that they did a great job at the auditions. As we talked about on Saturday, there are only so many parts available.
In regards to call-backs, I need only to see a few people this Tuesday evening at 6:15 p.m. We will meet in the high school choir room.

Spring Drama Audition/Workshop
Hello Spring Drama Participants,
This Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium, there will be the audition/workshop for the spring drama.
As of now, I have the rights for "Fools" by Neil Simon, and pending rights for "Rumors".
We will be reading from both plays on Saturday. Please bring water, a pencil and a snack. Be prepared to improvise and do some character choice work.

Hey Guys,
I am sitting here thinking how incredibly special you all are. I
didn't know you all posted these beautiful comments until just now. I
am speechless-which is pretty amazing coming from me, right? It was a
very special journey we all took. I had a funny feeling that this was
going to be quite a unique experience because you all were so dedicated
way back in August. No one complained about working in the summer-no
one commented on the fact that we all learned the ensemble numbers
before lead auditions. There was no hierarchy-we were all valuable
participants for the betterment of the production.
I have been flooded with e-mails from staff and audience members....RAVING about you, your energy, your talents.
We were all part of something that will forever change all our lives.
This Thanksgiving, I will have all of you in my heart.....and will take a moment to savor our accomplishments.

Dear Aida Community,
The kids and adults enjoyed themselves. It was great to see everyone take a moment to share a meal and relax a bit.
Thank you to Terri for organizing the event and for all those families who brought food/drink.
I also appreciate the Birthday Cake and celebration. It was wonderful to be with the kids on such a day.
As we move forward, please remember that this week is a bit intense.
All cast members are to be at school by 5:30 p.m. each night of this week. Some may want to arrive a bit earlier-just to have more time to prepare.
We will run the show each night starting at 7:30 p.m. The cast will be done for the evening when the show is completed and their costumes are put back properly.
Remind your cast member about keeping track of their school work and that they are to arrive at school on time each morning of this week!
Remember to obtain your tickets early, as the preferred seats are already going fast.
This Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., the cast will perform a 45 minute show for the Elementary School students. That is a wonderful time for the cast/crew to see how it feels to be in "show mode".

Aida Weekend Update!
Hi Folks,
Here we go..please check the FB page and Blog early and often...as times may vary a little.
This weekend we RUN with costumes and props. We will start at the beginning of the show and go straight through to the finale.
Please eat BEFORE you come to rehearsal.....no food in costumes-water only at rehearsal from now on.
Saturday we RUN at 2:30 p.m. You need to be at JHS at 12:30 for our vocal warm-up...which will take place in the choral room. NO BAGS in the auditorium. You need to be in your costume and in "places" by 2:20 p.m. Rehearsal ends when the run ends-we will not stop for anything!!!!!
If you are late-you are to sit with me in the auditorium and watch the run.
Sunday you need to be in "places" by 1:15 p.m. Vocal warm-up is at 11:00 a.m. We RUN the show at 1:30 p.m.
Please start thinking about make-up...what you will need. We will run with make-up Monday night.

Hello Aida Cast,
Great work tonight...first a good Honors Chorale rehearsal and then on to Aida.
Wow! What a day (not to mention BelleTones).
So...a few things:
1. We are going to paint this Saturday at 10:00 a.m...we need 7 folks. Volunteers?
2. Tee-Shirts are being sent tomorrow. Remember to bring in your money....$15 a shirt.
3. Ads? This really is the last call-otherwise you are responsible financially.
4. Raffle? We could have two folks try and sell tickets this weekend at the game?
5. Tickets for the show are now on sale!
6. "Strongest Suit" ladies....$14.00 this weekend. You need to practice with the costume. Please remember to buy the appropriate undergarment-OK? No later than this Saturday

A wonderful tradition in the JHS Theater Arts Department is to place an ad in the program honoring our seniors.
All cast members NOT seniors need to bring in $5.00 on Tuesday night.

REMINDERS

Read carefully the schedule for the coming week and what your responsibilities are:
1. Send your bios to me asap. If I do not have your bio by September 29 then you will not have one printed in the program. You must send the bio to my school e-mail. (davidsona@jenkintown.org)
2. There is no rehearsal this Tuesday the 25 of September.
3. There is rehearsal for ALL CAST MEMBERS this Thursday September 27 from 7:15-9:30 p.m.
Measurements for costumes will be taken, completion of Thriller, as well as blocking individuals into scenes.
4. September 29 there will be rehearsal for Leads only from 12:30-4:00 p.m. We need four people to help organize our raffle items as well.
5. Rehearsal on September 30 will be for ALL CAST MEMBERS 12:30-4:30 p.m. Remember to bring Zombie costumes in for pictures.

The Eye of Horus
The Wadjet (or Ujat, meaning "Whole One") is a powerful symbol of protection in ancient Egypt also known as the "Eye of Horus" and the "all seeing eye". It is also known as the "Eye of Ra", a powerful destructive force linked with the intense heat of the sun which was described as the "Daughter of Ra".

Announcing the JHS Fall Musical
JHS Theater Arts Program presents:
"AIDA" ~music by Elton John and Tim Rice.
Rehearsals begin August 20-23 from 7:15-9:30 p.m. in the high school choral room/auditorium, and August 27-29 from 7:15-9:30 p.m.
All students welcome.
Principal auditions will be held on September 8th from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the high school Auditorium.
Call Backs: September 11th from 7:15-9:00 p.m.
Parent Meeting: September 23rd at 3:15 p.m. in the high school choral room.

Cast Party and Clean-up!
Dear All Cast and Crew members of Loving Lives,
Last night was terrific. The audience enjoyed the play and it was wonderful to see all your hard work come to fruition.
A few reminders:
Please remember to stay after Saturday night's performance and clean-up the auditorium, the ladies bathroom, the high school choral room and make sure that the other two class rooms used are ready for teaching come Monday morning.
After the clean-up and break down of the sets...all cast members and crew are invited to a cast party at the Stillmun's house. Please give Shannon $5.00 to off set the cost of the party.
Thank you for all your hard work and talents.

Loving Lives Rehearsal Update
Hello Cast,
Rehearsals for the month of February are as follows:
Every Monday and Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the exception of the week of February 20.
The week of February 20th:
Tuesday and Thursday night rehearsal due to Presidents Day.
Tech Week:
Feb. 27-29
Monday and Tuesday rehearsals will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Wednesday evening rehearsal will begin at 5:00 p.m. and end approximately at 8:45 p.m.
Please be flexible with the time in regards to the ending of this rehearsal.
