ON THE TOWN Celebrating the Musical!

New York, New York– It’s A Helluva Town!

ON THE TOWN, the kinetic wartime musical about three sailors on a 24-hour leave in New York City, opened on December 28th, 1944.  Based on Jerome Robbins’ ballet Fancy Free, the show features a glorious Leonard Bernstein score, with playful book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. ON THE TOWN introduced several standards, including “New York, New York,” “Lonely Town,” and “I Can Cook, Too.”
