Weekend Update.......

Hello Little Shop Family,

This weekend:
October 31st
Come Dressed to rehearsal in a Halloween Costume, or a funny hat.....something for fun!!!!

All Cast/Crew must be at school by 11:00 a.m.
We will give notes, have the mics checked, talk about Props.

We will run the show ONE time starting at 11:30 a.m.

We will break for 15 minutes (get Audrey 4 ready) and start Act II.

We will break for lunch when the run is completed.

After lunch, we will review any scenes or musical numbers that are in need of some attention.

November 1st-CLOCK CHANGE
Remember to move your clocks "back" one hour Saturday night.

ALL CAST/CREW called at 11:00 a.m.  The pit orchestra will be at this rehearsal.  

Everyone must be quiet, calm and very good listeners.  The band will need a few rehearsals to understand what is needed for each musical selection, and to get a feel for the show.

We will run the show ONE time.  Break for 15 minutes, while we prepare Audrey 4, then run Act II.

We will break for lunch, then work on any musical number or scene that need attention.

Sell TICKETS!!!!!

Fill the seats with your friends and family.

Those who did not bring in any Ads, will need to donate $90 to the Theater Arts Fund.  NO more Ads can be accepted after Friday, October 30, 2015.

Please bring in your check when you are able.

That would be a great help to the the department.  We appreciate your support.

Wear your character shoes this weekend.
Bring in homework or a book to read.


WE WILL BE COLLECTING CELL PHONES THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!

Letter to Parents (sent out via e-mail)

Dear Friends,

I hope you are well and enjoying the fall colors.

The Cast/Crew member have been working very hard to produce a wonderful show come November.

As we head into the home stretch, I wanted to take a moment to talk about the upcoming events, and what you can do to help make this season a success.

So...here it goes.

Call time for each Cast/Crew member: 5:15 p.m.each night.


November 9-11 TECH WEEK
Each night we run the show once.  We will start at 7:30 p.m. and run the show in its entirety.  It will be a long night for all involved.  

The Cast/Crew will be able to leave when:  the costumes are put back, when the stage/dressing area has been cleaned up. and notes have been given.

I thank you in advance for your understanding.  It is a long but creative process for all.

November 8th
Dress Rehearsal 11:00-2:30 p.m.
Performance at Kenneseth Israel at 3:00 p.m. 
An ALL CAST PERFORMANCE!!!!
WE WILL NEED DRIVERS to and fro.  
We will need to leave school by 2:30 p.m.  The venue is just a few block away.

5:00-6:00 p.m. POT-LUCK dinner sponsored by Parents of Cast/Crew.

November 7th
Dress Rehearsal 11:30-5:00 p.m.
Evening of the 7th
Cheltenham Center for the Arts 
75th Gala Celebration.
7:30-9:20 p.m.

This is where we need your help:
Concessions
We will be running a concessions stand (as we do every season).  It is a great opportunity for us to generate financial support for the production and keep the audience well hydrated and nourished.  

Kiss the Cast/Crew
This is a wonderful way to show how much we support our Cast/Crew by leaving a note with some sweets (in a cool bag) for them to read after the show.  We will need two parents to help run this event.

Allison Gifford will be heading the concessions for the run of the show and will reach out to you shortly; seeking volunteers.

Pot-Luck November 8th 5:00-6:00 p.m.
This is a time when the Cast/Crew and families get together and share a meal; celebrating the community they have established since August.  This is parent run and has always been one of the highlights of the fall season.  

We are in need of two parents to help run this event.  Kristen McNamara can lend support and share information from last year.  Please contact me asap if you are able to help with this awesome festivity.

The good tickets will go fast.  The students will be buying their tickets during lunch next week.  Please purchase your tickets in advance to ensure the best seats possible for your family and friends.

October 21st Update!!!!

Rehearsal Update:

A Reflection

A good team, like a good show, comes into being when the separate individuals working together create, in essence, another separate higher entity-the team-the show-which is better than any of those individuals can ever be on their own.

Dear Cast of Little Shop,
How fortunate we all are to be able to work together as a community. To support one another, to grow, to learn.....to listen.
We are a community-we are a family. We are diverse in age/grade/interests, yet we have all gathered to share a common goal....to produce something magical, something unique.
From here on out....
Support each other.
LISTEN!.
Too much talking creates negative energy and wasted time.
No side conversations on stage-no side conversations while we are all engaged in creating. No side conversation-period!!
We need leaders. We need to set good examples. We need to keep the bar raised.
We need our seasoned actors to know when to remain quiet.
We need our leads to be role models.
Tomorrow night we moved forward.
From here on out, we must demand excellence.
We have come too far to ask for anything less.

Little Shop Update!!!!

Hello Everyone,

Well...I feel that as we get closer to opening night, the energy and focus has also stepped up. Keep it going. There is a lot to share...so here I go.

This weekend is a "work on all music/lines" moment in the rehearsal process.

1.EVERYONE must be off book on Skid Row, and Suddenly Seymour (focus on words here).
2. Street Urchins-Off Book on: Prologue, Da-Doo, Ya Never Know (we will polish up notes on Monday), Dentist!, The Meek.
We will spot check you on Monday night (three folks at a time).
3. All Leads.
KNOW YOUR LINES and ALL YOUR SONGS!!! (to the best of your ability) for next week.
4. Tickets are on sale NOW! Please purchase early before the good seats are gone.

November 7th 2015

November 7th is a go for the 75th Gala Celebration at the Cheltenham Art Center.
We will be performing 10 minute intervals, beginning at 8:00 and ending at 9:15 p.m.
So...8:00-8:10, 8:30-8:40 p.m. and 9:00-9:10 p.m.
We can talk about what we are going to perform this weekend.
Please mark your calendars accordingly!!!!

To clarify-"All Leads" encompasses the Street Urchins!

Rehearsal Update

Update:

ALL LEADS have rehearsal this weekend.

We start at 11:30 a.m. and will go until 4:30 p.m. each day.  Bring food-drinks-no teacher's lounge.

We will start at the beginning of the show until we need to stop, learn the material needed, and then keep going.

Avery will need to be Audrey II on Sunday.

Ethan-on Monday!!

Heather Farr will be in on Saturday during lunch break to talk costumes (2:15 p.m. or so ).  B.J. Cahill will be bringing in all the paint supplies-which we will help bring in.

Looking forward to working on the musical with more intensity and focus.
