Just a gentle reminder that the Philadelphia Circus School will be coming to visit us tonight.
Please be in the High School Auditorium at 7:00 p.m..
Remember to bring a pencil, script and water.
Also.....perhaps a sweater...it is a bit chilly in that space.

PIPPIN!!!!
Great job tonight folks.
I am very proud of you all.
We are already rockin' out. Please keep spreading the word....a few more guys would be fantastic.
Start thinking about the look you want for the show. I have already talked to the costumers and they are ready for us to send them some images of how we view our look.
Remember...water, pencils and your scripts tomorrow.
I have already requested the A.C. be turned on...lets see what happens.
Think about fund raising...think about places you can get ads from...we will talk about how to solicit ads tomorrow night.
Thank you so much for be part of it all.
Many thanks!

Pippin! The JHS Theater Arts Fall Musical
Dear Friends,
The JHS Theater Arts department is pleased to announce this season's fall musical Pippin!! This 2013 Tony Award Winning musical will be presented November 14, 15, 16 at 7:30 p.m. All middle school and high school students are encouraged to participate in this exciting production.
As is our tradition in the JHS Theater Arts Department, the fall musical "Boot Camp" will begin August 13.
We will rehearse:
August 13-15, 20-22 and 27-29 from 7:15-9:30 p.m. We will begin in the high school choral room (alternating between that space and the auditorium). During our "boot camp" much of the music will be learned for the production. This extra time gives us a head start on the upcoming months...and eases us into the world of Pippin!
There are no audition requirements for those students interested in being in the chorus or featured as dancer. Students who would like to audition for a principal part in this production may do so on September 8th from 12:30-3:00 p.m.
All information for the fall musical can be found on our blog.
(jhstheaterarts.blogspot.com) Please add yourself and your cast member to the list of "followers" and then browse the side bar for further information.
All cast members are required to attend all scheduled rehearsals as well as help break down the set at the end of the production. There is a parent meeting September 18th at 8:30 p.m. in the high school choral room. On November 10th at 5:00 p.m.we will have our fourth annual "cast pot-luck" dinner to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of the cast and crew. Parent volunteers will be needed for this event. All family members are invited to attend.
As in years past, there will be an extensive Ad Drive for this season's musical. All cast members will be required to raise $75. The proceeds from the Ad Drive pay for all of our cast member's costumes. The Ad Drive is crucial to our success as an educational as well as a performing arts program.
Please remember to become a "follower" to the blog and check at least twice a week for updated information on rehearsals and other materials relating to the production of Pippin!
Thank you for your support. It is always appreciated.
Here we go again!
Peace,
Lys

Rumors-Here We Go!
Dear Friends,
I would like you to take a moment and read this post
slowly and understand the magnitude of tonight’s performance.
Tonight, the Jenkintown community and beyond, will witness a
group of individuals who have come together to create a theatrical piece that
is top notch. Your set is intense, your
costumes fabulous! You have come so far,
as have I. You have raised the bar of excellence…and
have met that bar head-on.
You have worked so many hours, you have cared so much to
bring Neil Simon’s Rumors to
fruition.
Take a moment or two to bask in the sun, to let it all sink
in. This is a wonderful moment….savor
it!!
Tonight, you all must be the consummate professionals.
You must take care of your props, your food items, your cloths, your
lines, and your commitment to one another.
I remind you, if you
alter any lines, add anything we did not rehearse, if you do not act
with the utmost respect to all the time and effort that we put into this piece,
I will not only be disappointed in you, but you will have let your entire cast
down.
If someone chooses to act inappropriately while on or off
stage, the spring drama will not continue
next year.
Tonight…everyone must arrive by 5:30 p.m. Please sign in!!
We will meet in the choral
room at 7:20 p.m.
Oonagh, Sara, Mimi, Cameryn, Harley and I will be selling tickets
and standing at the doors to welcome your audience.
Crew must dress in black!
Stephen and Ryan will start the music at 6:45 p.m. at that
point the “house” will be open.
I suggest you pre-set the minute you enter the school
tonight.
Below is a list of items each cast member needs to bring for
all three performances. These items are
crucial to our show.
Please remember
that EVERYONE needs to be at school Sunday at 11:45 p.m. to help break down the
set.
Items to bring:
Dan: 3 Limes
Evan: 3 Lemmons
Cailyn: Ice for each performance
Patrick: Pretzels for each performance (we may have two
already)
Jess C.: Lemon squares, brownies…whatever…for the last scene
of the play
Olivia: 4 small apple juice bottles.
Jess M.: 3 Pens for the law to use instead of pencils
Rory: 3 small bottles
or cans of sprite or seven-up.
We still need an APRON for Cookie.
You all
need to bring in $15 for your shirts.
Remember:
No
clapping for one another during curtain calls…please polish up your bows.
This
is the last thing the audience sees. The
bows need to be quick, concise, clean!!
Be professional.
Are you all going out tomorrow night?
Is there a cast party?
You should
celebrate your accomplishments together.
Without
one another, this show would not be where it is today.
Bravo to you all.
I am
very proud of you.
Lys
