Little Shop Cast: Please Read!!!!!!
Happy Tuesday!
This year we're going to try using text reminders to keep
everybody informed about rehearsal times and other
deadlines.
The blog and Facebook page will still be your
primary source for information, but hopefully this system will
make it even easier to stay on top of everything.
Text the number 81010 with the message @godrakes to join
After sending this message, you'll receive confirmation that
you signed up. This is probably the only message from that
number you'll get until Boot Camp starts, but once we're
meeting more regularly it will be a useful tool.
Feel free to message me if you need any help signing up

2015 JHS Fall Musical-Little Shop of Horrors
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 2015 Fall Musical "Little Shop of Horrors": a whimsical tale about a young man named Seymour, his very gifted "green" thumb, and his love for a plant, named "Audrey 2". The music and lyrics are by the famous duo Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, whose credits include: Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast!
Boot Camp for the musical begins August 17th-August 20, and again on August 24-27. Rehearsals will start promptly at 7:15 p.m. and will run until 9:15 p.m. All students from grades 7-12 are welcome!
Auditions are not required to participate in Little Shop. All are invited to join in the fun.
Any student interested in auditioning for a principle part in the show, can do so on Saturday September 12, from 12:00-2:30 p.m.
Additional information will be provided as that time draws near.
A rehearsal schedule has been posted on the Theater Arts Blog (jhstheaterarts.blogspot.com). Please mark your calendars accordingly.
I look forward to seeing you all in the high school choral room on August 17th.
Please bring pencils, water, and very comfortable shoes.
NO FLIP-FlOPS!!!!
Take Care!

Ode to TCWs
Here’s the story of a cast, of a crew, a show
The script was filled with words,
That they didn’t really know
The script was filled with words,
That they didn’t really know
They read their parts,
They saw some jokes,
They even laughed at all the boats.
They knew they had the makings
Of a show that they could boast
They saw some jokes,
They even laughed at all the boats.
They knew they had the makings
Of a show that they could boast
They went to school,
They read their lines
Where some made sense,
and some did not
Then came a man named “J”
And he really knew a lot.
They read their lines
Where some made sense,
and some did not
Then came a man named “J”
And he really knew a lot.
Their time was spent so wisely,
The creative process it did soar
We added Batman, added Bane,
We had a rap-and even “moor”!!
The creative process it did soar
We added Batman, added Bane,
We had a rap-and even “moor”!!
They knew that this guy Shakespeare,
Had funky language and strange plots
They knew they had some work to do
And pulled out all the stops.
Had funky language and strange plots
They knew they had some work to do
And pulled out all the stops.
As we think about the journey,
All the roads we’ve travelled on.
You must admit to all the grandeur
That each night we did put on
All the roads we’ve travelled on.
You must admit to all the grandeur
That each night we did put on
With all the lines, and props, and costumes
You finally came together
You proved to all the doubters
That you could really do it better
You finally came together
You proved to all the doubters
That you could really do it better
I’ll miss the smiles,
The friendly banter,
And, Yes, even all the chatter.
For this cast has truly proven
That you know what really matters.
The friendly banter,
And, Yes, even all the chatter.
For this cast has truly proven
That you know what really matters.
You are brave,
You are strong
You saw a vision
Then set it free.
You are strong
You saw a vision
Then set it free.
Know that you are special
To the school,
your friends,
And me!
To the school,
your friends,
And me!
