2-21-18 Notes!


Act 1
Time: 7:46 p.m.

-Please do not talk backstage

-#12 You  are out of the room-we need to figure out how to keep the water cooler folks in the “scene”
-James-great!
-Josh-Lock the door-legit
-#12-don’t talk with with your cup
-#7-good personal hygiene
-#7/#10 react to one another
-ALL JURORS listen and react-make it fresh.  Too automatic
-Who is the knife keeper?
-#6-you are so good!
-Foreman-more volume-power!
-REACT-“  #7 “after six days”
-#8- a little more volume.  Much better though
-#12 good show of heat
-#7 really good “shtick”
-#5-good reaction-even from water cooler
-WE LOVE OUR CREW

-Jurors react more to #3’s outbursts (about kids)-pg. 21
-Foreman-“noting personal”  even more assertive-“let’s stop bickering” more forceful.
-#8-land your lines-don’t have voice go up all the time.
-#8-you could be a little more alive
-DOOR SQUEAKS!  WD40
-#4-very good recovery
-Jury react-especially when folks are making a plea for their guilt/or not guilty

-#10/#12 work on when each of you gets up-no synchronized movements please

NEEDS MAJOR FOCUS

-Guards-remember to walk in character until you can’t be seen,

-Foreman “the vote is 6 to 6” awesome choice
- #3 “never going to convince him” really nice delivery.
-Heat Index 90 degrees

-#4-nice-keep it moving (El train and all)
-#3 Who has the knife?  Stay in the play-Foreman-search for it.  Make it work.
-#7-in pants instead
-#4 can you make moving #7 part of the scene before you stab #7
-#7-get up a little bit slower-you are older.

-HOT HOT HOT! 90 degrees

-Folks-by Pg. 55- it is very hot.  #3 gives demonstration.

#12-when you walk across the stage-change your walk (tempo) as the acts go on.  More energy in Act 1-much less by Act III
-#10 Really good-still-go after the Juror even more-try to get
 their attention.
#4-Finally found your voice!  “If you open your mouth again….”
-#12-when you go stage right-leaning on the banister –you are not in the room. (Railings will be gone) Don’t go too far stage right.
-#8-don’t lean on door-
-#3-Much better contained-no too much. Not Too much vocables.  A bit more inside intensity that outside. (pg. 63)
