Young Frankenstein Thoughts.......

Dear Friends,

As we begin our next journey together in the realm of theater and discovery, I wanted to share my thoughts about this season's musical.

I think Young Frankenstein is a very clever and creative musical.  The musical is a great representation of the movie (of the same name) and exemplifies the creative force of Mel Brooks.

Our theater arts program has grown substantially in the past few years.  The support that we now receive, within the school and the community in which we live, has been tremendous.

Our seats are filled and the audience thoroughly enjoys  and respects our hard work and creative choices.

Our mission is to keep the arts alive and well in Jenkintown, and to also keep the integrity of the department within the standards that we have set and that which is expected of us.

There are two musical numbers that I have not included in the song list and there are lyrics that will be changed in a few numbers.

It is not our purpose to keep material in for "shock value" nor to make an audience, which I treasure and value, feel uncomfortable and, in turn, lose  their respect and support.

There are so many directions that I want to take for this production.  There are a few surprises that we are working on and costumes from Pierre's is going to be one of the highlights of the show.

I know that we will all be respectful of my choices and concepts for this show.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a full house EVERY night?

It is a possibility with the popularity of this show and movie.

I thank you in advance for your sensitivity and care as you embark on this journey with me.

Take care and I will see you all soon.

Lys
